suffering of the masses. "On March 20, at the welcome ceremony of Hubei Medical
System Supporting Hanyang Hospital in Wuhan, Wang Li, a psychiatrist at the
Hubei Provincial People's Hospital, said :“Up to now, 10 doctors from the Hubei
Provincial People's Hospital, the Hubei Cancer Hospital, the Hubei Integrated
Hospital of Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine, the Hubei Provincial
Hospital of traditional Chinese medicine and the third Hubei Provincial Hospital
have been assigned by the Health Select Committee of Hubei province to support
Hanyang Hospital in the front line, and to go deep into the fever clinic,
oncology department, psychiatry department, emergency medicine department and
general surgery department of the hospital to treat patients.
It is reported that Hanyang Hospital was an appointed as designated
hospital during the anti-epidemic period. More than 100 medical staff had given
medical care to 527 patients in hospitals in Wuhan for nearly 60 days, and 247
patients were discharged from the hospital. On February 27th, the patients
infected with COVID-19 all discharged from Hanyang Hospital. The diagnosis and
treatment order of it back to normal, and began to receive patients with normal
disease. With the increasing number of out-patients, all departments were
overloaded. The medical staff in neurology, oncology and general surgery
Department of was in urgent need. Also a group of emergency surgery, tumor and
hemodialysis patients need to be diagnosed and treated. The Health Select
Committee of Hubei province immediately issued instructions to major public
hospitals for immediate assistance.
On the first day of support, Liu Shengxin, deputy chief physician of
general surgery of Zhongshan Hospital, volunteered to participate in the radical
surgery of a right colon cancer. Wang Hui, a neurologist from the Hubei
Integrated Hospital of Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine, was arranged in
the fever clinic. "We worked together, and gave patients careful and patient
treatment. I felt both happy and proud to meet such a group of colleagues with a
caring and responsible attitude," she said.
Wang Guoju, Assistant to the Director and Head of Medical Department of
Hanyang Hospital, introduced that the reinforcement doctors have offered many
valuable suggestions in the arrangement of epidemic prevention and control
within the hospital. There are deeper technical exchanges and mutual discussions
in many fields such as psychiatry and oncology.
